To provide the service: compute charts, deliver readings, run consultations, process payments, secure your account, and meet legal obligations. We process your birth and account data on the basis of your consent (captured at signup) and to perform our contract with you.
Your chart is calculated from the birth details you enter; we do not need to retain rendered charts to operate the service. Your underlying birth details are retained only as described below.
We share data only with: the astrologer you choose to consult (limited to what the consultation needs); our payment processors; our infrastructure and SMS providers; and the grounded-AI layer, which receives only the computed facts and question needed to provide an explanation. We do not sell your data.
Our current service-provider inventory is: Amazon Web Services (Lightsail hosting and managed PostgreSQL in Mumbai), Cloudflare (website delivery, network protection, Workers and object storage), and Anthropic (the optional AI explanation layer when enabled). Integrations also exist for Razorpay, Stripe and Cashfree (payments), MSG91 and Twilio (SMS/OTP), Meta/WhatsApp (messaging), and Wise (payouts); a provider receives production data only when its corresponding feature is enabled. We will update this inventory before activating a new provider or materially changing its purpose.
We keep account and birth data while your account is active, and for [RETENTION PERIOD] after closure where required for legal, tax, or dispute purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
You may access, correct, or delete your personal data, and withdraw consent. You can delete your account at any time from your profile. On deletion, we erase or anonymise your personal data that is no longer required — subject to lawful retention for legal, tax, payment, fraud-prevention, security, dispute-resolution and regulatory purposes. As the relevant provisions of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 become applicable under their phased commencement, you may also request: a summary of the personal data being processed and the processing activities; the identities of other data fiduciaries and processors with whom the data has been shared, subject to lawful exceptions; correction, completion, updating or erasure; grievance redressal; and nomination of another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity. The internal grievance process must be used before approaching the Data Protection Board of India. We voluntarily provide the access, correction and deletion facilities described above before those provisions become applicable.
We protect data with encrypted transport, hashed credentials, access controls, and rate-limiting. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify you and the relevant authority of a breach as required by law.
AstroAmrit is intended only for users aged 18 and over; under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 a person under 18 is a child. We do not offer a parent/guardian consent flow and ask users not to submit a child's personal data. If we learn that a child's data was submitted, we will stop processing and delete it unless retention is required by law.
